Culture Swap

Right, let's get the ball rolling on this one.

The Rules:
Each person will prepare and send 2 packages and therefore receive 2 packages.

Each package must be based on one culture and contain all the following items
  1. The parts, instructions and history to make a cultural item, it could be some kind of jewellery, a game,  something used at a festival, religious item etc.
  2. A child friendly recipe.
  3. Instructions on how to play a game.
  4. A CD of music or printed poem/rhymes.
  5. A simple biography of a famous person, a musician, artist, scientist, leader etc.
feel free to add anything extra ;o)

So, if you would like to sign up send an email to
montessori.swapshop at gmail dot com

Please put 'Culture Swap' in the subject line (this helps me keep the emails organised).

Plus I need
  1. your name
  2. your email address
  3. the culture you will represent (it doesn't have to be your own, you can choose to do anywhere you fancy, you may want to get the kids involved too)

If you want to sign up please do so before the end of the month.

If you are one of the people who left a comment and wanted to sign up, can you also email me with the details, ta.

I will try and mix up the partners so that you get a good mix of cultures but of course it depends on where people sign up from.

Joining swaps like this is taking a leap in faith and hoping that your swap partners are honest, kind people too. The last swap went really well and the best advice I can give it to put together the kind of package you would like to receive. I can not be held responsible for swaps that don't work but I would like to know if you have had any problems with swap partners.

So, come on, sign up....

  6. Hi Jo: Can the two packages be identical, or are you assuming we'll put together two completely different packs?
    Cheers,

  7. it doesn't make any difference, no is going to know! If it easier to make 2 identical ones then do so (I am lazy so this is the route I go for!) but if you have things to make up 2 different packs then feel free to do that. Just be sure to let me know if you are representing 2 cultures so I can keep the groups mixed up.
