Do You Podcast?

A few years back when podcasts first arrived on the scene my husband introduced me to The Geoff Show podcast, after listening to a few I realised it was the same guy I used to listen to back in college and that he is from the next town over from my hometown, so that got me hooked. Then I stumbled across Sister Diana with Crafty Pod and Craft Sanity and subscribed to them too. Once Ebi-kun started yochien I had more listening time and found a few more, almost addictive as blog reading so now I listen to Dave Gorman and his silliness, Women's Hour (I never thought I would hear myself say that!) and Stuff You Should Know. It is a good mix of genre but I find myself running out by the end of the week, so if you listen to podacasts, what do you recommend?
I also get the Storynory one which is great for kids and I plan to fill my husbands ipod shuffle with songs and stories for Ebi-kun for when we travel back to the UK. I don't suppose anyone has earphone suggestions for kids? I could do with getting him some that fit properly.

  1. Podcasts help me to maintain my sanity somewhat - I'm hooked on them like I used to be hooked on soaps! My favourite is Answer Me This, and I also listen to The Archers (I know!! I never thought this would happen!), Desert Island Discs, Frank Skinner, Friday Night Comedy, Daily Audio Bible, Daily Audio Proverbs...

  2. ooo, I'm another podcast addict. I listen to The Archers (of course), Woman's Hour, Gardeners Question Time, Friday Night Comedy (it's either The News Quiz or The Now Show - the only way I keep up with current affairs!), sermons from various churches, In Our Time for a bit of high brow mental stimulation, sometimes The Food Program too. I'm also always on the lookout.

  3. I like NPR's "This American Life". I know you're not American - but I think it would interest you, anyway. It's sort of like a magazine: eclectic, and entertaining. It's an hour long, once a week - and my husband and I love it.

I also listen to "FamilyLife Today" - a 30 minute, 5-days/wk program. The 2 hosts interview a wide range of people and discuss familial relationships. I don't listen to every program, but it is in the shuffle.
