and I present this medal to...

Ebi-kun will graduate from yochien this month and they make sure a big deal of it, there wasn't this much fuss when I graduated university! So, we have had several notes home asking us to prepare this, that and the other. One of the requests were for two medals with long ribbons to give to the head teacher and one for his sensei. Of course there was no explanation of what they were supposed to look like and I had NO idea.

So... I sent daddy-ebi and Ebi-kun down the road to his friends house to ask the mom since she has one kid that has already graduated and then I ask Eri-san to see what she said too and the above picture is what we came up with. I still have no idea if this is what they are supposed to be like but they will have to do!

  1. the not knowing is the hardest bit, huh? We were given two post it size pieces of paper for Meg to write on for her teacher. She wrote something generic like thank you for teaching me or something and drew a picture on the other one. Sent them back to school and at observation day we all saw the finished product- an applique covered bound book filled with bejewelled ad bestickered notes from kids *and their parents*

    sigh.....

Will take a leaf out of your book and double check everything from now on!

    1. that reminds me of the class album last year, they gave us a sheet and said to stick a couple of photos on and answer the questions using the provided little squares of paper, so we did exactly as it said, we got the album and our page looks so clinical, most of the others had gone to town decorating it with stickers and drawings, colored pens the works! Well....we made up for it this year lol.
