Football, Coffee and a Good Book...

The boys had football on Saturday, it's lads and dads, more lads than dads to be honest!

Good excuse to have a play with my camera too. It was a lovely day, spring is on it's way, unfortunately that means the hay fever season is here too - my eyes were streaming after being outside for a few hours!

Daddy Ebi managed to twist his ankle when he was playing, which later swelled up like a tennis ball. He ended up going to get it x-rays but it's just a sprain, his football dad career isn't over yet...

They do make a good coffee at the Footpal place which I supped on as  I'm working my way through Tony Robbin's new book Money: Master The Game. It's a great read but I'm having to take it slowly as I have no knowledge when it comes to hedge funds, 401Ks and other financial jargon! Luckily it's written so even I can understand it. Might take me a while to finish it, hopefully before retirement! It's one BIG book!

I'm about half way through and have just started the part where he tells you how to invest your money, I'll do a proper review when I finish it...

On being a soccer mom...

Most Saturdays Ebi-kun and Daddy go to school training at the Footpal place in Urawa, they have a lads and dads class and you pay for the day so it suits our schedule much better than some of the local places. Plus the training there is really good.

I don't always go, sometimes I have stuff to do or I will indulge in some me time, last week for example I went for a massage instead. One of the great things about this place is the little cafe, they sell lovely selection of hot drinks, toasties and mini doughnuts, which makes the whole soccer mom thing, so much more bearable!

Visiting Friends and Party Hard!

We had a fun day Saturday, catching up with friends. Two families were over from the US, so the kids and dads went to footpal in the morning then we all met up for lunch.

It's great that even when the kids don't see each other for months they just still get down and start playing like it was yesterday they last met up! And now that the kids are older, us adults can let our hair down a bit (or a lot in some cases - this jug had some dodgy cocktail in it!)

The kids set up a shop upstairs and we had to keep taking it in turns to go and buy toys , books and massages.

All in all it was a great day and some much needed downtime.

Blog posts are likely to be short and sweet for the next couple of weeks as I am busy preparing to get everything ready and set up for when we head to the UK (trying to cut down on my work load whilst we are there, so I can kick back and enjoy myself!)

Footy & BBQs

We had a fun filled weekend, although Ebi-kun did get rather battered on Saturday, poor kid! We went to footpal, lots of the bilingual kids were there too - we are taking over!

Hot chocolate and mini donuts are the after footy treat - and keep the kids going because we end up having a late lunch. Ebi-kun went back to our friends house by kickboard scooter which is when incident #1 happened - falling off and putting a nice hole in his leg!

It was lovely weather and the kids were playing in the back yard so it was decided it would be safer to set the BBQ up on a couple of poles through the window (not entirely sure who decided this was safer!) but it worked! The food was great as was the company and the house didn't burn down.

The kids thought it was fun having dinner outside, incident #2 happened when Ebi-kun was still eating, the others had finished and were playing football, again. Ebi-kun ended up with the ball in his face and covered in mango juice, it would have been a comedy moment if he hadn't been hurt in the process. So then he needed to take a shower!

Yasutoki was working so he didn't arrive until 6-ish and he walked in to a blood everywhere… incident #3 Ebi-kun got hit in the nose which resulted in a massive nose bleed! Despite all the injuries, when we got home, somewhat exhausted, he declared it had been a brilliant day - that's how he rolls!
