when it is too hot to handle, head for the mountains...

This last weekend was a 3 day holiday so we packed up the car and headed off for cooler climes! This is the first time we have camped in Nagano, we try out a different campsite every time!
The day we got there the weather was perfect, we went salamander hunting in the stream but didn't find any, Ebi-kun did find lots of other bugs though including loads of different types of ladybirds he announced that this camp was 'a ladybird paradise', I like it! I like it more than a mosquito paradise, luckily we didn't have much worry with the mosquito's, I got bitten by a gnat which is still swollen and painful - the joys of camp.

The first night we had just finished dinner and it started to rain and it rained and rained all night luckily by the morning it had cleared up somewhat and it warmed up during the day so everything dried out. We feasted on the usual gourmet BBQ food and I got very excited to find rhubarb, I have never seen it down our way so I insisted on picking a load up before we came home, it will be rhubarb crumble for me tonight!

  1. It all looks like great fun. My children are always asking to go camping, I may have to research buying a tent.
