5 Cup Cake

This cake is about as easy as it gets.
Just take a cup, any cup, as long as you use the same cup throughout everything will work out fine!
You need
  • self raising flour (or plain and a teaspoon of baking powder)
  • sugar
  • All bran cereal
  • raisins or other dried fruit
  • milk
Grease a loaf pan and pre heat the oven to 190 C
Measure a cup of each ingredient into a mixing bowl, leave the milk to last.
To save on mess get them to measure out in a baking tray or similar.

Stir well so everything is well mixed.
Pour into the loaf tin and put it in the oven.
It depends on the size of the cup you use but for a tea cup it will take about 40 minutes, check by sticking a skewer in and seeing if it comes out clean.
Best eaten whilst still warm, sliced with a big dollop of butter :o) But tastes good cold too!
I made a simple recipe sheet for the kids like below, you can download it here

Well, my parents have left, they took a bus to the airport yesterday and booked into a hotel overnight, the airport isn't that far away, a couple of hours or so but they had an early flight so staying over was the easier option. Ebi-kun keeps saying he wants Nana to see his house again and that should come back next month! He has decided he doesn't need afternoon naps anymore but in reality he needs one every couple of days. By yesterday afternoon he was shattered, we got back from the bus station too late for him to have his usual 2 hour nap so I let him have half an hour but he was so tired and miserable he ended up having dinner early and his bath and bed by 6pm!
