and just so you can see exactly how big he is, here he is next to my pen. ewwww. He is apparently a type of moth and that big hook on the end doesn't look very nice at all.
I saw an enourmous one of these earlier in the summer, but it was green - perhaps they change colour as the weeks pass and it prepares to form it's cocoon? I was amazed at the size of it's droppings!!

ReplyDeleteanchan, according to Ebi-kuns bug book the green ones are a type of butterfly, quite pretty too.
