wibble wobble wibble wobble

jelly on my spoon...

I almost forgot about this. I saw this on pinterest, (click through to get the recipe) looks very pretty, perfect for a potluck party I thought...

Well, mine didn't look like the above at all! Getting coloured jelly was the first hurdle and my husband ended up having to stop off at the foreign food store but then they only had red and purple in real jelly (with gelatin) and yellow, orange and green in the kombu jelly which is probably healthier but not as colorful, in fact you can hardly tell the difference between the yellow and green in the bottom picture. My attempt was definitely on the sloppy side, it did go down well so not all was lot, not sure if I will bother making it again though.

Do you have a favourite dish to take to pot luck parties? let me know below..

  1. If you can get hold of gelatine you could make your own coloured jelly from scratch perhaps using ready made or powered juice mixes for the flavour. Looks really yummy though, must try it myself when summer rolls around.

    Christchurch, NZ

    1. I did think that if I did it again I would just add some extra food colouring to the jelly. Making it all from scratch feels like more trouble than it's worth!

    2. I was thinking of that myself, then I thought if it was just heated juice and gelatine it's just as easy! Might have to try it myself one day

  2. I love the way that looks! So pretty and totally potluck friendly. I love to make cold salads for potlucks - Last one I went to I made a corn and black bean salad that was amazing!

    1. corn and black bean, that sounds good. We have a couple of members who always turn up with the same dish but I tend to do something different every time :o)

  3. I love how pretty that looks! I want to try making it myself now. Usually for potlucks I make some sort of cold salad. Last summer I brought a corn and black bean salsa to a potluck that was easy peasy and amazing!
