Make snow at home…

I found this on Pinterest but when I clicked through to the blog it opened a malware window so I am not going to link to it. Anyway, you only need 2 things for this and it is fun!

Baking soda and shaving cream, yep, that is it!

I recommend doing it in a big tub or baking tray to cut down on the mess. Pour the baking soda in then, add the shaving cream, and mix it together until you get a good constancy.

It's funny when Ebi-Kun was a toddler he went through a stage where he hated touching things, a sensory bin was his idea of hell, and now he can't wait to get his hands in there!

Anyone for a snowball fight?

Building a snowman was a bit trickier, a bit like when you try and build a snowman with powder snow, and needed some extra shaving cream…

But he got there in the end. The best bit is that it doesn't melt! The 'snow' smells lovely and actually feels cold. This would be so much fun for kids who don't get real snow!

A Merry Montessori Christmas

When my friend Aubrey from Montessori Mischief told me she had put together a Merry Montessori Christmas book I was very intrigued! She sent me a copy to review and I have to say, it is great! She has taken some great Montessori activities and put a Christmas spin on it.

Each activity tells you what you need, why it's Montessori and how to do it, with simple, step-by-step instructions and there is a great variation of activities and non of them need specialised equipment (you can see why I like this, Aubrey has the same thinking on how to bring Montessori into the home without a load of special equipment!

Aubrey is a fully trained Montessori teacher and mother to two adorable little boys and her love for teaching shines through the book. This is perfect if you have a 2-6 year old at home and you want to do some fun things with them for the run up to Christmas. With Ebi-kun at school and us leaving before Christmas we won't have much time for anything other than the usual pre-Christmas fun but I would have definitely done some of these what he was younger.

If you want a copy, pop over to Aubrey website and grab a copy HERE, it is $4.99 and worth every cent!
