Cough Candy Kit-Kat - Strange Kit-Kat Flavours

I have to admit, when I saw this I did wonder what on earth is going on down at Kit-Kat HQ? What have they been taking because who in their right mind would think that cough candy chocolate would be a good idea?

I hope that there were repercussions for this foolish endeavour, I am certainly not taking out shares in Kit-Kat if this kind of foolishness continues. Mint kit-kat I can cope with but this is just plain silly. Anyway, enough of my ranting about the crazy antics of kit-kat flavour makers (I wonder if that is their real job description?)

Last Day Of Being 11...

As Ebi-kun tends to drag his birthday out for as long as possible, today we went for a "fancy lunch". In the previous 3 years we have been to Jamies Italian but this year the weather has been awful and to be honest, I didn7t fancy traipsing around Manchester in the rain.

So we decided on The Botanist in Alderly Edge. We weren't disappointed.

Mocktail: All the greens, very minty and refreshing!

We decided to share a couple of 'nibbles' the pork scratching were amazing, we could have scoffed a few more! I imagine with beer these would be even better!

We also had the onion petals, a twist on onion rings, also delicious.

Then it was time for the main, my step-brother had recommended the hanging kebabs so Ebi-kun had belly pork and I tried the chicken. It comes hanging with a little dish of dressing that is poured into the dish at the top then it dribbles down over the kebab and onto the bowl of chips underneath.

It was really good, the pork was beautifully tender and the chicken was really tasty. Mom ordered a starter as a main, haddock and egg.

Of course, we had to have pudding too, Ebi-kun had cookie dough and caramel ice-cream. The dough was served in a hot skillet, it was a bit weird, definite comfort food. I had a modern version of banana split, which was OK but nothing to shout about.

All in all, it's a was a great meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and we left full and content!

We accidentally ended up at a festival in Saitama Shintoshin and long chips were all the craze, of course, a certain little person insisted that we really needed to try them, for research purposes of course!

Can you believe it has been a year since he started this little venture?

Me neither, he has certainly tried some weird things over the year, some good, some bad and some just blah! I think the pickled squid episode is still my favourite, I nearly peed myself when we filmed that one! Although there might be another contender, we recorded and interesting new candy the other day...

So here is the one year anniversary show, bit longer than normal as he was trying chocolate from all over Europe, which is the best?

Have you ever tried Black Jacks, they remind me of the penny tray when I was a kid. In the newsagents there was a tray of sweeties priced, 1/2p, 1p and 2p and black jacks were always one of the selection. I'm pretty sure they cost more that 1p these days!

I imagine that one drunken night, someone was looking through their cupboard to see what to eat in their drunken stupor and decided to try ramen noodles without cooking them first. And they discovered, that actually, they taste quite good and so the ramen snack was born (this is all speculation but in my head this is how it happened!)

Ebi-kun is trying Baby Star Ramen snack for the first time in this episode of Ebi-kun eats and no, he didn't get drunk beforehand...
